Jess Nather

My name is Jess Nather, and I'm a senior at Albert Einstein High School. I've always had a particular fondness for U.S. history, but it's only recently that I've started becoming interested in the Progressive Era. I'm very excited to be working with the Woodrow Wilson House, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to be able to explore Wilson's presidency and the context surrounding it in greater depth.

Currently, I'm working on a project about Wilson's political inconsistencies. What did he say in public vs. private? Which promises did he miss out on? Were these forgivable offenses? Which decisions were made due to poor judgement, and which were malicious intent? I intend to explore these questions in relation to several areas of Progressive Era politics, such as World War I, interventionism, and African-American rights.
