John Maxwell Hamilton, author of Manipulating the Masses: Woodrow Wilson and the Birth of American Propaganda (released in late 2020), explores the roots of modern-day propaganda in WWI, bringing the story up to date with an examination of the implications for contemporary America.

Jack Hamilton, a long-time journalist, author, and public servant, is the Hopkins P. Breazeale Professor in the Manship School of Mass Communication, Louisiana State University, a Global Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and a Senior Associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Hamilton is author or co-author of seven books.
